Western medicine views the human body entirely through anatomy—bones, muscles, and nerves. However, ancient Yogic and Ayurvedic sciences recognized that the physical body is merely a dense manifestation of the Pranamaya Kosha (the subtle energy body). The major intersections of this energy network are known as Chakras (spinning wheels of light).
The 7 Major Chakras
There are 114 chakras in the body, but seven major ones run vertically along the spine, directly corresponding to major nerve plexuses and the endocrine glands in the physical body. When a chakra is blocked due to trauma, poor diet, or negative emotions, disease manifests in the physical organs governed by that chakra.
1. Muladhara (Root Chakra)
Location: Base of the spine.
Governs: Survival, grounding, adrenals, bones, and the large intestine.
Imbalance Causes: Chronic fear, financial anxiety, sciatica, and severe constipation.
2. Swadhisthana (Sacral Chakra)

Healing the Chakras at Satyam Yogashramam
True healing requires addressing both the physical and energetic bodies simultaneously. We use specific Kriya Yoga techniques, Pranayama (breathwork), and Mantra chanting to vibrate and clear blockages in the nadis (energy channels), allowing the Chakras to spin freely. Once the energy flows properly, the corresponding physical organs naturally return to health.
